Board Meetings

 

The Board is scheduled to meet at 8:30pm on July 22nd at the Ashlawn Grille to discuss current business.

Minutes

Attendees: Grant, Steve, Lynn, Jay and Alan

Membership Drive:

·       Group estimated the current membership has approximately 40-50 dues paying members and 20-25 attend the meetings regularly. If we can grow the membership we can probably be more attractive to draw speakers in from areas further away (equipment suppliers, dealers, etc.) to join us at our meetings as guest speakers.

·       Lynn suggested we reach out to the neighboring clubs (within and outside the community) and contact the chairpersons of each to see if they would be receptive to receiving email notifications about our monthly meeting and forward it to their respective groups. It was determined to reach out to all available FREE ADVERTISEMENT at our disposal to do the same.

·       Jay recommended we not charge dues for 2010 based on the desire to bring in new members and guests and the current, favorable position of the club financially.

2010 Presentations: 

Group discussed we should offer topics to reach out to three audiences; beginner, intermediate and advanced. It was determined that we should rotate presentations, which may attract other members to the group utilizing beginner’s topics. Intermediate topic presentations could satisfy the more advanced members yet still be attractive to the beginner. Hopefully guest speakers will be willing to address a larger audience and expand our offerings to our membership.

 Take Away Items:

 Grant: Contact: PALM, Fluvanna Review, regional scout contact, PVCC computer courses, schools.

Steve: Compile 2010 meeting schedule, phone contact outside clubs, create email lists to forward notifications to committee chairs (internal) and club chairs (external), create s spreadsheet with contacts and work with Lynn to draft talking points for reach out by phone to committee and club membership chairpersons.
