The Lake Monticello Computer User Group is always looking for new members.
Guests are always welcome. RSVP to Doris for gate admittance.

We are excited about our meetings this year and hopefully have subjects that will entice all to come. We also hope to mix a little sociability into the program. Unfortunately, we did not have a quorum at our December meeting and therefore we couldn't have the election of officers. The quorum is 20 and we only had 19. We really shouldn't vote by email as this doesn't allow for any discussion. Therefore, we really need your presence to vote on Feb. 1st.

This is the slate of officers for 2006.
Doris Ashley-President
Grant Fleming-VP
Dana Lee-Secretary
George Hardy-Treasurer

Of course we will take nominations from the floor. In addition, we need a librarian to keep the books and to keep track of who borrows etc. Very little time is required. We will be voting on by-law changes as follows:
1-change the quorum to 20%
2-Add the Help Coordinator to the Board member

Check our calendar for upcoming Special Interest Group (SIG) meetings.

7:00pm in the Terrace Room

It's time to pay your 2006 dues!
Please mail your check to the treasurer or pay at the next meeting.
(Single = $12; Family = $20)

Report on the LMCUG General Meeting

November 4th, 2006

The regular meeting of LMCUG was called to order by President Doris Ashley at 7:05 pm. There were 21 members present and one guest, Carl Rehberg.

The treasurer reported cash on hand of $2, 034 with 47 members in the club at the end of September. His report was read and accepted. George Hardy will not seek re-election and was thanked for his service to the club.

A survey is to be sent to the members by e-mail to learn about member interest in speakers and topics for monthly meetings. This survey will be sent prior to the November meeting.

A nominating committee has been formed: Arlene Bandy, Jim Leigh, and Don Raab. Volunteers for officers position should contact any of these members.

Alan Steward presented programs on Fine Print and Spin it Again.

Alan had excellent demonstrations, handouts, and information about discounts on these programs. Alan has used an amazing printer driver called Fine Print for more than 8 years. He demonstrated better control of what you print, how to save on paper and ink, delete unwanted pages, easily print multiple pages on a sheet and print two-sided.

Spin it Again allows you to transfer old vinyl records (33 1/3, 45, 78rpm) to audio CD’s or to MP3 files and remove noise, pops, and clicks at the same time.

Lynn Forsyth outlined the topic for November’s meeting. A representative from CVS will speak about their picture processing. Members were urged to invite friends to the meeting.

Our 50/50 prize was won by Don Raab. Raffle winners were Jay Stofberg, an album; Don Raab, holiday paper; and Bud Mauldin, a keyboard brush.

Meeting adjourned

Dana Lee, Secretary
